Thalaivi, where the actress will be seen playing the role of veteran politician and former CM J. Jayalalitha has been trending for a while now. Not only are fans excited to see the actress play the politician on the big screen, Kangana also had to undergo intensive body transformation, and gain almost 20 kilos to look the part right. While Kangana looks every bit the living version of J Jayalalitha on screen, the transformation in itself was arduous and left a lot of stretch marks on the actress's body, which she recently talked about on social media.

02/7 Gaining weight for 'Thalaivi' and losing it was painful, says Kangana

While Kangana, 34 has been earning rave reviews already for her role and looking the part in the film, the actress has been very open and honest about how gaining weight for the film , and losing it has been a rather painful experience, which left her with permanent stretch marks, which are marks of discolouration that form when the skin is stretched a lot more than usual. Stretch marks happen with both weight gain, and weight loss.

Detailing about the impactful role in Thalaivi, and the toll it took on her body, Kangana shared a couple of photos, before and after, from the movie and wrote,
